Tom Hunt
Associate Director
Tom is a media relations expert with a broad range of experiences helping companies and NGOs with external messaging, issue positioning and communications strategies. He has worked across a number of issues including climate change, food systems change, diversity and inclusion and ESG.
Working from organisations ranging from FTSE100 to grassroot charities, Tom helps clients to develop interesting stories for national, trade and broadcast media. He provides clients with strategic advice to ensure that communications on social issues are read by the right audiences.
Prior to working for Purpose Union, Tom worked at a technology PR consultancy, where he started to build his network of technology and business journalists. He also undertook the Taylor Bennett Foundation’s training programme, where he first gained an insight into the communications industry, and still regularly engages with the charity outside of work.
Tom studied History at the University of Sheffield, covering a range of historical periods and specialising in Mao’s China in his final year. He plays football casually and in a 5-a-side league, and also loves live music, attending his favourite artists’ gigs when he can.
